Key Responsibilities:
- Support veterinarians in medical procedures and surgeries.
- Conduct outpatient examinations, including gathering patient histories and vital signs.
- Prepare animals for surgical procedures and monitor their vital signs throughout.
- Collect and analyze laboratory samples, performing in-house tests as necessary.
- Take and manage radiographs while adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide proper animal handling and restraint during examinations.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms and treatment areas.
- Engage with clients to communicate care plans and address concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the practice.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and handle animals and equipment.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and proper use of PPE.
- Basic math skills for medication dosage calculations.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
- Strong communication skills to ensure effective patient care.
