Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare items for shipment with minimal supervision, ensuring the accurate creation and verification of records for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Act as a material handler, supporting operational processes.
- Assist truck drivers, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and RFC procedures.
- Inspect, service, and maintain lifting devices, performing regular checks that may include lubrication, fuel filling, battery changes, or gas tank replacements.
- Utilize lift equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload materials from pallets, racks, shelves, and boxes, delivering materials to production areas.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring all documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments is accurately completed. Verify that materials are properly packed, labeled, and matched against shipping records.
- Document any shortages and communicate with relevant internal departments regarding damages, discrepancies, or part counts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in material storage areas, ensuring proper tagging of all materials.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing software is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position require regular standing, use of hands for handling or feeling, and frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The role may also involve occasional climbing or balancing, as well as talking or hearing. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and occasional fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is typically loud.
