Electrophysiology Specialist

The Medical University of South Carolina's Clinical Neurophysiology Department is seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, documentation, and education under general supervision.
Job SummaryThis position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take appropriate action, and provide guidance, mentoring, and education to lower-level technicians. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to interact professionally with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and family members.
Responsibilities- Performing routine and continuous video EEG studies using the 10-20 system outlined by ACNS
- Maintaining accurate records and data entry skills
- Providing guidance, mentoring, and education to junior staff members
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient care goals
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited program of Electroneurodiagnostic technology or equivalent, registration as an EEG Technician by ABRET, and one year of EEG Technician work experience. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also preferred.
Working ConditionsThe successful candidate will require working irregular hours under stressful conditions, rotating shifts, and weekends. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care are essential qualities for this position.
