Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intake with patients, including vital signs, visit information, and other clinical data as required.
  • Take telephone messages from patients, document encounters, and inform providers according to established protocols.
  • Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or by established protocols, adhering to the six rights of medication administration.
  • Assist providers with procedures such as casting, splinting, bracing, and injections.
  • Participate in performance improvement projects to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
  • Perform tasks such as setting up for clinical procedures, high-level disinfection and sterilization, and other miscellaneous duties within your scope of practice.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as necessary.
  • Float in the clinic to cover patient and provider needs as delegated by the health center administrator.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, preferably CAAHEP or ABHES accredited.
  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
  • BLS certification required.
Work Environment

This role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Some roles within our organization may require distinct physical and/or mental capabilities. Further details and accommodation requests will be addressed by individual hiring departments.
