Ultrasound Technologist Position at Christus Health

This role involves performing medical ultrasound scans on patients based on doctor's orders, following the guidelines set by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and American Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate medical ultrasound equipment, set-up, and handle equipment movement
  • Take directions from the Radiology Medical Director
  • Document procedural information accurately in the patient's medical record
  • Perform various high-quality ultrasound procedures independently
  • Assist Radiologists in invasive biopsy procedures using ultrasound technology
  • Ensure accurate billing and reporting of charges
  • Maintain the Ultrasound room, equipment, and computer readiness
  • Perform all assigned tasks to meet patient care needs
  • Adapt patient assessments to address unique needs of each patient
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology
  • Minimum 1-year scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound
  • ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year
  • Certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred
  • Per Diem As Needed
