Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Locksmith Specialist to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a key control technician, you will be responsible for providing technical and complex work in repairing, maintaining, and purchasing a wide variety of locking systems in a correctional facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain locks and locking systems
  • Provide key control and access management
  • Perform locksmith duties, including rekeying, repairing, and maintaining locks
  • Design and key systems for buildings
  • Estimate labor and material costs for planned projects
Requirements
  • Current certification by the Associated Locksmiths of America as a Certified or Master Locksmith
  • Two years of experience performing locksmith duties, including experience rekeying, repairing, and maintaining locks
  • Ability to read construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
  • Math skills sufficient to estimate labor and material costs
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification by the Institutional Locksmiths Association as a Certified Institutional Locksmith
