Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Mariposa County Health and Human Services Agency. As an Extra Help Nurse Practitioner, you will provide specialized healthcare services in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment, and management of health and illness needs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough clinical assessments and treatment plans for clients
  
  
• Identify health status of children and adults through thorough histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
  
  
• Evaluate medical complaints and perform physical examinations to determine the likely cause
  
  
• Order and interpret routine tests, including blood counts, chemistry panels, and electrocardiograms
  
  
• Provide direct and indirect clinical services to clients, including initiating therapy for specific problems
  
  
• Assist clients in obtaining community-based outpatient primary care for acute or chronic medical conditions
  
  
• Provide psychiatric care to clients in consultation with the Behavioral Health Medical Director
  
  
• Collaborate with the clinical team to develop effective treatment plans
  
  

Requirements

• 
  
  
• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Training Program and Registered Nursing program
  
  
• Valid and current Nurse Practitioners Certificate issued by the State of California and Registered Nurse License issued by the California State Board of Nursing
  
  
• Valid CPR and first-aid certificate
  
  
• Valid California driver's license
  
  

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in an office environment with some field visits. Interaction with clients requires adaptability when confronted with emergency, critical, unusual, or potentially dangerous situations. Potential exposure to infectious diseases.

Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time and intermittently walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing office duties. Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual discrimination, and perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading and writing, and operating office equipment.
