Scicom Infrastructure Services is seeking a Quickwit Specialist to elevate our search functionalities and oversee our log analytics framework. As a prominent player in the technology sector, we are committed to leveraging cutting-edge solutions to enhance our data-driven strategies.
Role Summary: In the capacity of a Quickwit Specialist, you will take charge of the implementation, enhancement, and administration of Quickwit search engine systems. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring effective data indexing, optimal search performance, and the overall dependability of our systems. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, software developers, and IT personnel to deploy and maintain Quickwit within our data architecture.
Core Responsibilities:
- Setup & Configuration: Spearhead the installation, configuration, and deployment of Quickwit clusters, ensuring they meet both business objectives and technical specifications.
- Performance Enhancement: Fine-tune Quickwit performance, focusing on query execution, indexing, and resource allocation to efficiently manage extensive datasets.
- System Integration: Seamlessly integrate Quickwit with various data sources and systems, including logging frameworks, data lakes, and analytical platforms.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and rectify issues related to Quickwit, such as performance slowdowns, indexing challenges, and data discrepancies.
- Best Practices Development: Establish and promote best practices for Quickwit utilization, encompassing data schema design, search optimization strategies, and system upkeep.
- Documentation: Generate and sustain thorough documentation for Quickwit configurations, operational processes, and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Training & Assistance: Offer training and support to internal teams regarding Quickwit functionalities, best practices, and troubleshooting methods.
- System Upgrades & Maintenance: Oversee Quickwit upgrades and routine maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to search functionalities and data analytics operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated experience with Quickwit in a live environment, encompassing deployment, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of Quickwit's architecture, indexing, and search functionalities. Familiarity with related technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, Apache Lucene) is advantageous.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to effectively tackle complex challenges.
- Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and data analytics.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications (Optional): Relevant certifications in search technologies or data management are beneficial.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based deployments and scaling solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with log management and analytics tools.
