Healthcare Manager

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
As a key member of the University Health team, the successful candidate will oversee Service Coordinators and collaborate with the Director of STAR+PLUS to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care for our STAR+PLUS Members. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with Community First staff at all levels to drive Member satisfaction and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and manage Service Coordinators to deliver exceptional care to our Members.
- Collaborate with the Director of STAR+PLUS to develop and implement strategies for improving care coordination and reducing costs.
- Work closely with Community First staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers and community partners.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing or social work is required.
- A Bachelor's or master's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
- Seven years of clinical nursing or social work and case management/service coordination experience with two years of management experience is required.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid HMO experience is preferred.
- Three years of experience with STAR+PLUS, Nursing Facility, or Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) experience is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
A current, unrestricted license to practice professional nursing issued by the State of Texas is required. Case Management certification, or similar, is preferred. RUG Certification is preferred and must be obtained within 30 days of employment offer for all RN candidates. Master's degree may be considered in lieu of certificate.
