Pharmacy Technician Level II

Children's Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Level II to join our team in Plano, Texas.
About the Role:As a Pharmacy Technician Level II, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy team in preparing unit dose medications, compounding sterile preparations, and delivering medication to patient care units.
Responsibilities:- Prepare non-sterile admixtures, including hazardous medications, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
- Perform computer entry for missing doses, patient charges and credits, and other documentation.
- Deliver or restock medications, deliver pharmacist code box, and assist in maintaining overall cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Prepare parenteral products under the direction of a pharmacist, utilizing aseptic technique adhering to USP 797 guidelines.
- Maintain competency and aseptic technique validation per departmental policy.
- Prepare non-sterile admixtures, including hazardous medications.
- Answer phone calls and respond to the needs of the caller and/or direct them to the appropriate person for service.
- Ensure compounding/clean room areas and related equipment are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Deliver controlled substance medications to patient care areas according to Pharmacy guidelines and standards operating procedures.
- Replenish medication carts and automated dispensing cabinets.
- Check and maintain inventory levels, checking for expired/unusable products and disposing of them properly.
- Attain/maintain knowledge of all pharmacy computer systems, including electronic medical records (EMR), from the standpoint of a user of the system.
- Perform job responsibilities in accordance with organizational and departmental policies, procedures, performance improvement objectives, and environmental and infection control standards.
- At least 2 years of pharmacy-related experience.
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration.
- National Certification with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.
