Qualifications:

Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Fire Protection Engineering, along with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience and a valid PE license.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Perform engineering calculations and design layouts in accordance with established policies, standards, and codes, exercising independent judgment with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize practical knowledge and experience to address project-related challenges and conflicts, demonstrating independent decision-making capabilities.
  • Occasionally oversee junior personnel or collaborate with other engineers and designers.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of discipline-specific codes and building regulations.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to guide clients on design and project requirements.
  • Engage with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, timelines, budgets, site challenges, and review processes.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to develop design budgets and schedules.
  • Estimate the man-hours required for project design tasks.
  • Provide leadership and delegate design responsibilities to designated designers, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.
  • Implement system types as determined by the Project Engineer, delivering comprehensive construction documents that align with client and project team expectations.
  • Review preliminary and final engineering designs with other disciplines for functionality, clearances, coordination, and final design selection, including a thorough review of engineering drawings.
  • Maintain client communication.
  • Conduct quality assurance on projects in collaboration with the technical manager or project engineer.
  • Mentor and inspire Engineering designers at various levels.
  • Uphold high standards of professional integrity, prioritizing the best interests of the company and clients.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while ensuring quality design outcomes.
