Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at American Family Care, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease by performing radiographic imaging procedures. You will also supervise X-Ray Technologist staff and ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Interview, hire, and train all x-ray staff to ensure they meet the highest standards of patient care.
  • Greet patients and explain procedures to them in a compassionate and clear manner, ensuring they feel at ease throughout the process.
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures, taking into account their comfort and safety.
  • Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment, ensuring all supplies are ordered and stocked as needed.
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for reading by a physician and radiologist overreads.
  • Utilize both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all policies and procedures.
  • Aid physicians with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Be willing to cross-train in other roles as appropriate, including medical assisting and reception.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
  • ARRT-registered or board eligible, with a license per state regulation.
  • In some states, Medical Assistant Certification or registry, Practical Nursing License, EMT, or Paramedic certification may be acceptable.
Compensation

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of $36.00 per hour.
