Job Summary:

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior In-House Legal Counsel to support our business and commercial activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology law, contract law, and data protection. They will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the legal work for North America, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide strategic analysis and implementation for North America, driving business growth and success.
  • Drive, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including master services, licensing, professional services, marketing, SaaS, and vendor agreements.
  • Understand and ensure company-wide compliance with privacy and data protection laws and self-regulatory organizations in the AdTech industry.
  • Conduct legal research and partner with the executive team to assess new initiatives.
  • Provide practical, business-oriented, strategic legal advice and recommendations to cross-functional teams on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters.
  • Understand complex privacy and data protection law and apply those concepts to challenging business processes.
  • Oversee different aspects of legal matters, including corporate, employment, real estate, M&A, benefits, insurance, and litigation.
  • Collaborate with various teams in the organization to deeply understand the company's products and practices and provide advice on best practices to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Establish and maintain business processes and internal policies aimed at scaling the business and supporting corporate governance.
  • Manage and facilitate relationships with outside counsel and work with other global team members in the global legal department.
Requirements:
  • A Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and a license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience practicing law in-house and/or at a law firm.
  • Experience in the AdTech/MarTech industry is required.
  • Experience with and a demonstrated knowledge in privacy and data protection laws and applicable self-regulatory organizations is required.
  • Experience in working in a global legal department and/or demonstrating strong leadership instincts.
  • Solid knowledge of technology law and contract law and demonstrated success in an IP/technology licensing and commercial contract environment.
  • Knowledge of various regulatory, legal, and financial filings.
  • Pragmatic and business-focused, ability to resolve issues independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both orally and in writing, internally to legal colleagues and business clients and externally to customers and business partners.
  • Enthusiastic leader who enjoys taking ownership of projects and building relationships with individuals across a variety of functional teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will enable him/her to interact with a range of personalities and styles and be able to establish effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
