Overview:

Global Medical Response Inc is excited to announce a distinctive opportunity for individuals eager to embark on a fulfilling career in emergency medical services. Our EMT Training Program is designed for those who aspire to become skilled Emergency Medical Technicians.

Role of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):

The EMT plays a crucial role in delivering essential emergency medical assistance and facilitating the transport of patients in critical condition. This position requires a foundational understanding of patient care and the ability to operate as part of a comprehensive emergency medical service team under medical supervision. EMTs utilize basic medical equipment typically found in ambulances and serve as a vital link between the scene of an emergency and the healthcare system.

Program Details:

Selected candidates will be employed and receive a training wage while participating in the EMT Training Program. This intensive eight-week course prepares participants to sit for the National Registry EMT exam and adhere to local protocols. All associated costs, including tuition, textbooks, and uniforms, will be covered by Global Medical Response Inc. Classes will be held Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM. Upon successful completion of the program and certification, participants will transition into EMT roles with an increased compensation rate.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Must have all necessary immunizations
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screenings, including background checks, drug testing, and a physical agility test

Post-Completion Expectations:

Upon passing the course, participants must successfully complete the National Registry EMT exam and local protocols. Following certification, a commitment to work with Global Medical Response Inc for a minimum of one year is required, along with completion of new employee training.

Immunization Requirements:

Candidates must provide documentation of the following immunizations:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) - positive titer within the last 5 years
  • Hepatitis B - positive titer within the last 5 years
  • Chickenpox (Varicella) - positive titer within the last 5 years
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (TDAP) - proof of immunization within the last 5 years
  • Meningitis vaccination - proof of immunization within the last 5 years
  • TB/PPD - negative TB/PPD skin test within the last 3 months
  • Influenza vaccination - required if the course occurs during the flu season
