WIC Nutritionist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled WIC Nutritionist to join our team at Optimus Healthcare in Waterbury, CT. As a WIC Nutritionist, you will be responsible for providing nutrition education, information, and referrals to participants of the WIC Program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct complete WIC nutrition assessments and determine nutritional risk of WIC participants.
• Develop and follow-up on care plans for high-risk participants.
• Provide and document nutrition education, counseling, and breastfeeding support.
• Facilitate participant/caretaker setting goals to address risk criteria or participant concerns.
• Issue WIC food packages in accordance with Federal and State regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in foods and nutrition, community nutrition, nutrition education, or nutritional sciences.
• Registered Dietitian (R.D.) or eligibility with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• Experience in computer basics and data entry, as well as effective communication and counseling skills.
