Production Trainee Job Description

As a Production Trainee at 84 Lumber, you will be responsible for assembling building material components, including wall panels and roof/floor trusses. Your tasks will involve inserting or positioning materials, clamping, splicing, fitting parts by hand and with power tools, and verifying dimensions of cut material according to supervisor's instructions, blueprint specifications, and cut sheet layout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble building material components, including wall panels and roof/floor trusses
  • Insert or position materials, clamp, splice, fit parts by hand and with power tools
  • Verify dimensions of cut material according to supervisor's instructions, blueprint specifications, and cut sheet layout
  • Use a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints
  • Follow prioritized production list and use assigned press stations to place and press plates on appropriate lumber
