Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at VNS Federal Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power distribution systems for government facilities.


Key Responsibilities

The Electrical Engineer will:


  • Design and develop electrical power distribution systems up to 480V 3 phase
  • Review and revise electrical drawings
  • Create, edit, and modify Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Drawing Change Notices (DCNs), Preventative Maintenance (PM) documents, and Modification Travelers
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Assist in site/area visits/walkdowns and investigate engineering problems, propose solutions, and alternatives, and provide recommendations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, the candidate will need:


  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 0-5 years' experience designing building electrical systems/electrical power distribution systems and knowledge of required maintenance
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks
  • Experience in application of NFPA 70 and NEC
  • Exposure to Power Tools for Windows and other industry software
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with personnel, management, and support organizations
  • Work experience in nuclear or regulated environment desirable, DOE or Hanford experience preferred
