Position Summary
This role involves providing essential care to residents under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN), LPN/LVN, or Memory Care Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and document vital signs.
- Measure and log height, weight, and fluid intake/output.
- Identify and report any unusual changes in residents' health to a supervisor.
- Assist with medication reminders, personal hygiene, dressing, and other daily living activities.
- Deliver compassionate support to residents with dementia.
- Safely transfer, position, and turn residents as needed.
- Administer skin care to residents.
- Contribute to resident assessments and care plans.
- Provide restorative nursing services as required.
- Follow the care schedule established by the supervisor.
- Offer emotional and social support to residents.
Resident Rights and Advocacy
Uphold and safeguard resident rights by assisting them in making informed choices, treating them with dignity, protecting their belongings, and reporting any suspected abuse or neglect. Ensure compliance with professional standards to minimize the need for physical restraints and promote independent expression and decision-making.
Communication and Reporting
Inform supervisors of any resident concerns or issues promptly. Maintain confidentiality and respect the independence and dignity of all residents.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a clinical/nursing environment.
- Certifications: CNA licensure as per state regulations.
- Language Skills: Proficient in English for effective communication with supervisors and in emergency situations.
Technical Skills
- Basic computer skills are required.
