We are seeking a skilled Public Health Licensed Practical Nurse 1 or 2 to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will provide assistance to public health clinics throughout the 12 counties within District 4 Public Health.
Key Responsibilities- Administer immunizations to patients of all ages in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Perform annual school and daycare immunization audits to ensure compliance with public health regulations.
- Complete quarterly reports to track program progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with annual scoliosis screenings to promote early detection and treatment of spinal deformities.
- Participate in health fairs and educational programs to promote public health awareness and disease prevention.
- Perform TB screenings and administer PPD skin tests in clinic and outreach settings.
- Prepare for and respond to public health emergencies as directed by management.
- Utilize computer technology to collect, store, and retrieve data to inform program decisions.
- Participate in program planning to develop and implement effective public health initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders through written, verbal, and electronic means.
- Incorporate strategies for interacting with diverse populations, including those from different cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial, gender, age, ethnic, sexual orientation, professional, religious affiliation, mental, and physical backgrounds.
- Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures to ensure compliance with public health regulations.
- Engage in individual, team, and organizational learning opportunities to enhance personal and professional development.
- Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
- Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- CPR certification.
- Completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN.
- Public health experience.
- Experience with screenings, immunizations, GRITS, and interviewing patients.
- Bilingual Spanish/English speaking language.
