Job Title: Manual Lathe Machinist CNC Mill/Lathe Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist and CNC Mill/Lathe Operator to join our team at Stand-By Personnel. This role involves programming and operating manual and CNC machines to manufacture parts according to drawings or instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming and Operation: Program and operate manual mill and lathe machines to manufacture parts according to drawings or instructions.
  • Quality Control: Inspect parts to ensure specified dimensions are met using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices.
  • Tooling and Setup: Select correct tooling and set up machines accurately to ensure efficient production.
  • Workmanship and Cleanliness: Maintain a high level of workmanship and ensure work area cleanliness to meet company standards.
  • Production and Efficiency: Make offsets and edits independently and meet daily/weekly production quotas to contribute to team success.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in R&D design reviews and contribute to team success by sharing knowledge and expertise.

Other Duties:

  • Mentorship: Mentor and assist less experienced machinists and CNC operators to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Blueprint Analysis: Visualize and study blueprints to aid in machining processes and improve efficiency.
  • EDM Operation: Set up and operate EDM machines to manufacture parts with high precision.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks as assigned while exercising good judgment and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Trained in programming and operating CNC machines or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills: Minimum of 5 years experience in programming and operating CNC/manual machines, proficiency with CNC equipment, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges, basic computer skills, and mathematical skills including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
