Job Summary

Mitchell Martin is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team in New York. As an integral member, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with disabilities, fostering their independence, and promoting overall well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate student abilities, create personalized occupational therapy profiles, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of student strengths and challenges.
  • Design and implement medically prescribed occupational therapy programs, ensuring students receive targeted support.
  • Develop and write Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) and goals, aligning with student needs and evaluation results.
  • Incorporate occupational therapy into comprehensive educational plans, driving student success.
  • Contribute to team planning and staffing meetings, sharing knowledge and expertise to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure parents are informed of student progress, providing assistance to facilitate carryover of skills.
  • Maintain a professional attitude, interacting effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program recognized by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists.
  • Current license in occupational therapy issued by the New York State Department of Education.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology, implications of eye diseases, tactile graphic production, functional vision assessment, developmental patterns in visually impaired individuals, and orientation and mobility techniques is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Perform duties without physical restrictions, maintaining a level of activity consistent with student needs.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, and lift up to 15 pounds, with frequent movement throughout the workday.
Compensation:

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $56,000 per year, with opportunities for increases based on experience. Mitchell Martin offers a supportive work environment, dedicated to the growth and development of our team members.
