Role Summary
We are looking for an Information Security Consultant to enhance our Federal division. This role requires a unique blend of business insight and technical knowledge. The consultant will engage in evaluating compliance and risk across various client initiatives for prominent organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive information security risk assessments, compliance audits, and remediation strategies.
- Contribute to projects focusing on CMMC, FedRAMP, StateRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, and NIST.
- Engage with project stakeholders to effectively communicate technical requirements and process enhancements.
- Assist in crafting tailored policies, procedures, controls, disaster recovery strategies, and technical documentation for various systems and applications.
- Develop internal methodologies to bolster the maturity of the Federal practice.
- Possess a solid understanding of IT security and various compliance frameworks (e.g., CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST 800-30, 800-53, 800-60, PCI DSS, NYS DFS 500).
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- CISSP Certification is mandatory.
- At least one advanced cybersecurity certification such as CASP+, GCED, GCIH, GSLC, CCSP, CISA, CISM, ISO 27001, CRISC, etc.
- Preferred: BCR completion or in progress.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in information security, IT, enterprise risk, or compliance.
- Hands-on experience with CMMC, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53/NIST audits and attestations.
- Familiarity with security architecture, infrastructure, network, and systems design.
- Practical knowledge of IT security concepts, including firewall management, server management, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and access control.
- Experience in securing operating systems and managing security policy frameworks.
- Experience in managing policy exceptions and collaborating with teams to document exceptions and identify compensating controls.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues across technical and business domains.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in drafting executive-level reports and technical documentation.
