The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a contingent days RN, you will provide exceptional care to critically ill newborns and their families, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill newborns, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Delegate tasks and supervise nursing staff to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
- Monitor patient progress, identify potential complications, and take appropriate action to prevent or manage them.
- Participate in shared decision-making activities and contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
