About the Role

Amergis is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a critical role in facilitating educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.
  • Follow instructions from the BCBA/program supervisor/teacher to ensure effective implementation of behavioral plans.
  • Provide behavior assistance/interventions to assigned clients, utilizing ABA-related teaching strategies to promote positive behavior.
  • Review and implement behavior intervention plans, as well as behavioral goals found within IEPs.
  • Document sessions accurately and efficiently, adhering to confidentiality requirements.
  • Collect data accurately and efficiently, and assist students in developing independent skills through self-care activities.
  • Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervising teacher.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registered or Certified BTs require Board or State Certification/Licensure (as applicable per state and/or client requirements).
  • Two (2) years relevant experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current PPD or Chest X-Ray (as applicable per state and/or client requirement).
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency required.
