About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Specialist to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing industrial automation systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program systems based on machine specifications, project scope, and interactions with team members.
  • Design and implement safe and effective industrial control systems based on thorough analysis of requirements, including electrical and pneumatic drawings, bill of material, PLC, and HMI design.
  • Execute systematic procedures to ensure that control systems are operating as designed.
  • Provide direction and guidance to ensure that debug and test phases of the project run smoothly.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure project schedules and budgets are maintained.
  • Work with and manage controls outsource vendors to maintain sufficient scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Assist in project quotations pertaining to controls functionality, required equipment, and employee/vendor resources.
  • Maintain a professional presence when traveling to customer facilities during install and startup.
  • Adhere to all safety, production, and quality guidelines during install/startup of assigned projects at customer facilities.
Requirements
  • 2-10 years of experience in industrial automation, electro-mechanical, and controls.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, maintain multiple projects, and meet established deadlines.
  • Effective collaboration with mechanical engineers in the development of automated systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience in programming PLC-based systems.
  • Experience in programming and commissioning motion control systems, including servos. Yaskawa experience is a plus.
  • Experience in debugging and testing electro-mechanical systems and controls.
  • Experience in configuring HMIs for discrete manufacturing equipment.
