We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer I to join our team at Printpack. As a key member of our product development team, you will play a critical role in driving the successful commercialization of cutting-edge packaging products.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with customers, sales, and manufacturing teams to drive the development and launch of new packaging products.
- Identify opportunities for innovative growth, including the development of recyclable paper or plastic packaging to meet customer sustainability goals.
- Design new product specifications to meet customer needs and ensure fit-for-make in our manufacturing processes.
- Provide technical support to our sales team and customers to maintain and grow our flexible packaging business.
- Work with our sourcing team and external suppliers to identify and qualify alternative raw materials to improve supply reliability and reduce costs.
- Four-year degree in Engineering (Chemical or Materials preferred), Packaging Science, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a flexible packaging industry.
- Direct customer interaction experience.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Experience in printing, laminating, bag/pouch-making.
- Knowledge of BOPP/PET/PE films, polymers, adhesives, and inks.
