Job Summary

The Corporate Tax Manager will be responsible for managing a variety of tax-related issues and compliance projects for multiple corporate entities within our controlled group. This role requires a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation of U.S. and Canadian income tax provisions, including ongoing updates of book-tax accounting differences and quarterly updates of State and Provincial apportionment.
  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and extension requests.
  • Participate in the preparation of Canadian income tax returns in conjunction with external accounting firms.
  • Assist with the preparation of property tax and Commerce report filing responsibilities.
  • Provide oversight and review of monthly tax reporting and submissions.
  • Assist the Tax Director and Senior Tax Manager group with research and projects related to U.S. state and local sales and use and federal and state income tax issues and transactions.
  • Assist with the preparation of formal responses to tax audit requests and notices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a four-year university or college required.
  • CPA is a plus.
  • Master's Degree in Taxation preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of tax experience, with a combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience.
  • Experience with ASC 740 or IAS 12 deferred tax accounting required.
  • Tax managerial experience is required.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong background in U.S. and State corporate income tax issues.
  • Good understanding of income tax accounting principles, including ASC 740 or IAS 12.
  • Proficient with tax research software (RIA preferred).
  • Good organizational and supervisory skills.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Dedication and an exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to manage a team and provide exceptional service in a complex and fast-paced operations environment.
  • Strong relationship building skills with both internal and external customers.
Language / Communication Skills:
  • Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers verbally and in writing.
Job Dimensions:
