Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Systems Engineering capabilities. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in guiding and determining the verification approach for our Systems Engineering team as we incorporate Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methodologies to support the US/UK TRIDENT Submarine Strategic Weapon System (SWS) program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support verification strategy and approach
  • Support verification reviews of system requirements
  • Develop and maintain a Requirements Traceability and Verification Matrix (RVTM)
  • Perform analysis and collaborate with teams analyzing data to support verification and validation of systems requirements
  • Support development and execution of systems test plans and procedures
  • Engage with community IPTs / Working Groups / Communities of Practice
  • Support Systems Engineering technical reviews
  • Mentor junior engineers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
  • 6 years of related/relevant work experience
  • Experience spanning the SE Lifecycle with an emphasis on integration, verification and validation, and test
  • Experience developing analytical strategies and performing data analysis in support of complex systems requirements evaluation
  • Skills in analysis, critical thinking and technical problem solving
  • Demonstrated Self Starter with organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively with others
  • Willingness and ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles and tools
  • Experience with acquisition and/or RDTE experience with submarines or missile systems
  • INCOSE ASEP, CSEP, or equivalent certification
