Job Description:

Aerospace Medicine Specialists are primary care physicians who provide unique, specialized care to individuals working in exceptional environments. Your expertise will enable our Airmen to stay in peak condition and continue their duties in the air.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage various physiological responses that result from encountering exceptional environments
• Provide preventative care to maintain optimal health and performance
• Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in aerospace medicine

Requirements:

1. M.D. or D.O. degree and completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited program of postgraduate specialty training
2. Completion of a primary course in aerospace medicine
3. A valid aeronautical rating of Flight Surgeon, Senior Flight Surgeon, or Chief Flight Surgeon
4. Minimum 12 months of experience as a flight surgeon (for Aerospace Medicine Specialists)
5. Board eligible in Aerospace Medicine (for Aerospace Medicine Specialists)
6. Completion of Officer Training School course
7. Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 48th birthday
