ED Support Technician

The ED Support Tech plays a vital role in the Emergency Department, providing essential support to Registered Nurses and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
As a key member of the ED team, the ED Support Tech will perform a range of tasks, including providing basic hygiene and comfort measures, assisting with patient treatments, collecting specimens, and obtaining vital signs.
They will also assist with patient transfers, discharges, and registration, as well as provide support during emergencies by providing the RN or physician with necessary materials and completing documentation of care.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and have a strong understanding of medical terminology.
Responsibilities- Provide basic hygiene and comfort measures to patients
- Assist with patient treatments, including collecting specimens and obtaining vital signs
- Assist with patient transfers, discharges, and registration
- Provide support during emergencies by providing the RN or physician with necessary materials and completing documentation of care
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and support the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Previous acute care experience preferred
- Great communication skills necessary
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to multitask is necessary
