Cheese Ambassador

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cheese Steward to join our team at Lowes Foods. As a Cheese Steward, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable shopping experience for our guests.

• Customer Interaction: Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests, building genuine relationships and resulting in a brand-aligned experience.
• Product Knowledge: Meet with cheese representatives to determine the best cheese selection/offering, discuss cheeses with guests to help them determine the best cheese selection for their needs, and answer guest questions about the products.
• Sampling and Demonstrations: Open cheese to offer samples to guests, train other cheese demonstrators/stewards, and recommend wine to accompany cheese.
• Merchandise Management: Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise, set up advertising displays utilizing visual merchandising standards, obtain merchandise requested by guests, and wrap merchandise for guests upon request.
• Inventory and Sales: Keep records of sales, prepare inventory of stock, and order merchandise through Department Manager, and announce specials and sale information using the PA system.

• Teamwork: Ability to work well with others, including Store Manager, DSD Receiver, and cheese representatives.
• Physical Demands: Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time, and lift 25lbs. consistently and 50lbs. occasionally.
• Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of cheese, effective communication, guest service, and selling skills, and ability to read and understand information and direction.
