Key Responsibilities- Animal Behavior and Training: Use your knowledge of species and breed-specific behaviors to encourage pets to present desirable behaviors for the camera.
- Behavioral Observation: Note any changes in behavior and communicate to the Manager, Pet Handling.
- Safety and Risk Management: Identify and report any safety concerns on or off the set.
- Education and Training: Build and present educational presentations for the pet team and studio.
- Research and Development: Take initiative in advancing your knowledge of positive reinforcement techniques and fear-free skills for animal behavior and training.
- Pet Casting and Database Management: Update the pet casting database with pet photos and behavioral information.
- Studio Testing and Evaluation: Complete studio testing with new pets to resolve their eligibility for casting.
- Pet Parent Communication: Network with potential pet parent contacts for casting.
- Stress-Free Environment: Assist in crafting a stress-free environment for pets on set by advocating for their needs.
- Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions with cats and dogs using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Training Plans: Write training plans for crafting new behaviors.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams to set pets up for success on set and propose alternative solutions when needed.
- Safety Supervision: Supervise all interactions with the pets to ensure safety to pets and people in the Studio.
- Pet Parent Relationships: Build a positive relationship with pet parents.
- Studio Maintenance: Set up, break down, and clean pet-holding areas.
- Additional Responsibilities: Assist Pet Talent Team with other duties as assigned.
- Professional Animal Experience: 1 year of professional animal experience.
- Animal Comfort and Safety: Must be comfortable around all animals including cats, dogs, horses, reptiles, and rodents.
- No Animal Allergies: No animal allergies.
- Animal Behavior Knowledge: Knowledge of animal behavior/behavior analysis in the animal training field.
