The MDS Nurse is responsible for leading the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process and collaborating with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to ensure ongoing care and provide the best quality of life possible.
Responsibilities- Evaluate care provided to each resident and keep care plans current
- Lead the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process
- Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to ensure ongoing care
- Participate in leadership weekend on-call schedule rotation
- Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents
- Coordinate care, resident assessment, and resident education
- Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel
- Graduate from a National League of Nursing (NLN) or American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) accredited nursing program
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum of one-year experience working as a licensed nurse with the senior population preferred
- Resident Assessment Coordinator-Certified (RAC-CT), management or supervisory experience preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing
