We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at the Kellogg Center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of food production to ensure the highest quality for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with developing menus, recipes, and specifications to offer quality food products
- Oversee daily food operations to ensure banquet food production and plate presentations meet the highest standards
- Contribute to the success of the Kellogg Center by utilizing forecast data and proper scheduling techniques to respond to business fluctuations
- Maintain health, sanitation, and safety standards according to State and MSU Health regulations
- Assist with the purchase of food and kitchen supplies and equipment
- Participate in daily meetings and supervise full-time and part-time team members
We are looking for a candidate with knowledge acquired in the first two or three years in college or vocational school in Culinary Arts, and one to three years of related and progressively more responsible work experience in food production and supervision.
Desired QualificationsExperience in hotel culinary operations and working directly with people from diverse backgrounds is highly desirable.
