Imaging Specialist - CT Technologist

Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled Imaging Specialist to join their team in Ohio.

About the Job

This is a 13-week contract with 36 hours of work per week, requiring 12-hour shifts. The pay package includes a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.

Job Description

An Imaging Specialist - CT Technologist will operate and calibrate computed tomography (CT) scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients. They will ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process.

  • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring they are comfortable.
  • Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Instruct patients on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans.

The Imaging Specialist will also administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician guidance, monitor the equipment during imaging, and review CT images for quality. They will work closely with radiologists to ensure that images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities

As an Imaging Specialist, you will:

  • Patient Preparation and Communication: Prepare patients for CT scans, verify patient information, and position patients properly.
  • Operation of CT Equipment: Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, administer contrast agents, and monitor the equipment during imaging.
  • Image Quality and Review: Review CT images for quality, work closely with radiologists, and repeat or adjust scans as necessary.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort: Follow safety protocols, maintain a sterile environment, and ensure proper patient positioning.

You will also collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions. Additionally, you will participate in patient care planning, document patient information, and maintain equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with CT scanners and other medical imaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

You should also have a strong understanding of imaging protocols and procedures, as well as the ability to adapt to changing situations. A professional certification or licensure in radiologic technology is preferred.
