Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in Westchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preliminary screenings, assisting with diagnostic testing, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities- Conduct preliminary screenings, including obtaining ocular and medical history, visual acuity measuring, applanation tonometry, pupil and basic motility assessment.
- Assist with diagnostic testing, including OCT, Optos, HVF, and IOL Master.
- Support office flow and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with minor office procedures and sterilize and set up instruments.
- Maintain instruments, including bio-microscopes, lensometer, and tangent screen.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and medical terminology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with slit lamp microscope and basic patient work-ups.
- Working knowledge of eye anatomy, retina disease, and ocular medications.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA).
