POSITION OVERVIEW

The Clinical Research Nurse plays a vital role in supporting protocol-driven clinical evaluations of study participants, administering investigational treatments and accompanying medications, conducting safety evaluations, and assisting with the responsibilities of Clinical Research Coordinators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gather comprehensive medical histories of patients and research participants, documenting aspects of previous health conditions, family medical history, lifestyle habits, and occupational exposure as directed by the Principal Investigator.
  • The individual will be tasked with documenting information in source documents and noting all modifications.
  • Conduct clinical evaluations of study participants according to protocol and as instructed by the Principal Investigator. These evaluations encompass, but are not limited to, collecting and reviewing vital signs, performing ECGs and venipuncture, managing wound care, and administering medications (including Investigational Products).
  • Engage closely with patients on a daily basis, monitoring not only evident changes in their physical health but also the nuances of their emotional well-being.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all patient documentation.
  • Lead responsibilities during phase one, including dosing, quality checking charts and data, and assisting Research Assistants/technicians with study evaluations.
  • Provide necessary emergency medical support for inpatient studies as required.
  • Review all study protocols and related materials to ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Support research personnel as needed, as well as study clinicians.
  • Guarantee that all tasks are performed in accordance with Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), Corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and principles outlined in CFR 21 and ICH guidelines.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a Licensed Practical Nurse certification with licensure in the relevant state(s).
  • ACLS Certification is highly preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential for effective interaction with patients and CliniLabs staff in fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.
  • Conflict resolution abilities are necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture and ECG is required.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends is essential.
