Cloud Computing Architect with DevOps Expertise

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Computing Architect with expertise in DevOps to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Agile software development lifecycle, you will have the opportunity to design and develop robust cloud environments and provide operations and maintenance for critical systems.
About the Role
This Principal Software Engineer position involves providing technical expertise and support in the design, development, implementation, and testing of customer tools and applications based on a DevOps framework. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement software programming initiatives to support innovation and enhancement using Java, JavaScript, Python, SpringBoot, Hibernate, and other relevant technologies.
- Create and integrate custom developed software solutions to leverage automated deployment technologies, ensuring seamless integration with cloud platforms.
- Analyze and effectively coordinate infrastructure needs driven by developed software to meet customer mission needs, leveraging commercial cloud solutions.
- Support the Agile software development lifecycle following Program SAFe practices, utilizing industry-leading DevOps tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and Unix bash scripting.
- Document and perform systems software development, including deployment of build artifacts across different environments, leveraging GitFlow constructs.
- Communicate key project data to team members and build team cohesion and effectiveness, applying and identifying best practices and standard operating procedures.
- Leverage Atlassian tool suite like JIRA and Confluence to track activities and create innovative solutions to meet the technical needs of customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient with common Agile practices, service-orientated environments, and development practices.
- In-depth use and experience with Java, Spring, and C2S.
- In-depth experience in the software development lifecycle, with experience delivering within DevOps toolsets/practices.
- Direct experience utilizing software testing performance tools, such as Junit/Katalon.
- In-depth experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash.
- In-depth experience working in an Agile development environment and tempo.
- In-depth experience with development in Commercial Cloud Platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience with development leveraging cloud data services (e.g., S3, RDS, EFS).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Well-versed with using version control systems.
- Well-versed with using issue/problem tracking systems.
Estimated Salary: $126,100 - $227,950 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
