Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in fulfilling their obligations.
  • Prepare, assess, and revise security authorization documentation.
  • Ensure that established protocols for the sanitization and disposal of hardware and media are adhered to.
  • Alert the ISSM regarding any changes that may impact the security authorization of the information systems.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of information systems to verify compliance with security standards.
  • Coordinate any alterations to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM and Authorizing Official (AO) prior to implementation.
  • Oversee system recovery operations to guarantee that security features are effectively restored and operational.
  • Maintain up-to-date security documentation accessible to authorized personnel.
  • Ensure that audit logs are gathered, analyzed, and documented, including any irregularities.
  • Participate in necessary technical and security training relevant to assigned responsibilities.
  • Conduct the cybersecurity segment of self-assessments, providing security oversight and reviewing system evaluation plans.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and assist in implementing appropriate countermeasures.
  • Generate reports detailing the status of security measures applied to information systems.
  • Perform ISSO functions in support of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct security impact assessments and provide feedback to the ISSM regarding all configuration management changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in information security.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, with 2 additional years of experience considered as a substitute for formal education.
  • Possession of an active DoD M IAT-II certification.
  • Familiarity with DoD/USAF information security policies and practical experience applying Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
  • Experience in developing and contributing to RMF documentation and associated security controls.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues, management, and clients, including the ability to deliver presentations.

Security Clearance:

  • Current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Willingness to undergo a Counterintelligence polygraph examination.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional mobility within the office environment to access necessary resources.
  • Frequent operation of computers and other office equipment.
  • Regular communication with colleagues and clients, requiring the exchange of accurate information.
