Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled HVAC and plumbing engineer to engage in a wide range of building configurations. Under general supervision, you will be responsible for executing all facets of conventional design engineering, analysis, and assessments on both new and existing structures.

The Mechanical Buildings Design Group is dedicated to providing HVAC and plumbing solutions for global projects. The Mechanical Engineer role encompasses the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing systems across various facility types.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Construction Activities
  • Project Delivery Methods - Traditional Design-Bid-Build and Alternative Conceptual-Bid-Build.
  • Facility Types – Power Generation buildings, Substations, Oil & Gas structures, Water Treatment, and Energy Storage buildings.
  • Systems – HVAC and Plumbing.
  • Areas of Focus – Power Generation Hall, Administrative, Warehouse, Maintenance, Workshop, Laboratory, Chemical Storage & Handling, Electrical Distribution Center, Low & Medium Voltage Switchgear, Pump Areas, Engine Generator, Blowers/Air Compressors, Wastewater treatment facilities, and Flammable & Combustible Liquids Storage.

Energy Efficiency and Compliance:

Conduct engineering studies, system performance reviews, and energy compliance calculations to ensure optimal energy use.

Perform facility reviews for code compliance and apply sustainable strategies in design, including LEED certification processes.

Qualifications:

Preferred education includes an Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a similar field being highly desirable. A minimum of 11 years of relevant work experience is typically required.

Essential Skills:

  • Familiarity with International Codes Council (ICC) Suite of Codes
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE Handbooks / Standards
  • Understanding of ASPE design handbooks
  • Proficiency in SMACNA Standards
  • Awareness of NFPA standards
  • Experience with computer-generated HVAC heat loads, energy modeling, and HVAC equipment sizing
  • Technical submittal and bid review processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, and Revit 3D Modeling.

Certification as a LEED AP professional with experience in obtaining LEED certification for industrial buildings is essential. Extensive experience with large-scale water-cooled chillers is preferred, along with a PE License.
