Medical Support Specialist Plasma Center Nurse

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality plasma collection process. Your expertise will be essential in determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, and reviewing laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure seamless operations and provide exceptional customer service to our donors.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing to ensure donor safety.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow standard operating procedures for medical emergencies.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
- Support employee vaccination programs and manage employee incidents.
- Participate in pandemic response and investigations as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program.
- Current licensure or certification as a LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
