Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electric Vehicle and Diesel Technician to join our team at our Field Test site in Commerce City, Colorado. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles, as well as providing support with in-test inspections, diagnostics, and standard mechanical and electrical vehicle repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures and electrical troubleshooting using established procedures
  • Perform maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired products
  • Prepare reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues
  • May communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair
  • Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, drive trains, steering, braking, material handling, and operator comfort systems
  • Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings, and procedures, and governmental regulations

Requirements:

  • Associates degree
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
  • OR
  • At least 5 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience

Desired Skills:

  • Previous mechanic experience involving commercial truck and engine assembly, repair, and fabrication
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostics background
  • Vehicle experience that includes some of the following: commercial vehicles, off-highway vehicles, or agriculture vehicles
  • Experience with alternative fuels, including EV (electric vehicles), and/or Propane
  • Experience with Cummins/Allison/Eaton/Duramax
  • Training/Education as a Truck mechanic, and as a Diesel Engine mechanic
  • Experience with welding fabrication with Tig, Mig, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene Welding skills & plasma cutting
  • Knowledge of multimeter and/or module programming, standard electronic diagnostics equipment
  • Prior dealership or fleet service experience
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint

Navistar provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.

The annual salary range for this role is $65K-$83K a year and is overtime eligible.
