Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare examination and treatment areas, ensuring all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Assist patients in getting ready for their medical appointments, providing support as directed.
  • Measure and document vital signs accurately in patient records.
  • Understand and maintain special medical equipment properly.
  • Conduct EKGs, pulmonary function tests, audiometry, and Titmus tests following successful completion of performance evaluations.
  • Perform urine drug screenings, breath alcohol tests, phlebotomy, and other laboratory tests as required after meeting performance standards.
  • Maintain patient records by accurately completing documentation and filing reports as needed.
  • Support billing and collection processes as necessary.
  • Utilize office software to manage and maintain administrative systems.
  • Recognize and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Assess and address the specific needs of the patient demographic served, adapting care accordingly (e.g., age, culture, language, sensory impairments).

This includes effective communication with patients, guardians, and caregivers, tailored to their developmental and educational levels.

Additional Duties:
  • Perform other assigned tasks and projects as needed.
  • Adhere to organizational competencies and behavioral standards.
  • Meet physical demands, including lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling at least 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
Qualifications:Skills & Experience:
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Capacity to engage positively with diverse populations.
  • Adeptness in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Familiarity with computerized systems and data entry protocols.
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
