Job Summary

The Neurosciences Care Specialist will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while implementing physician orders and administering treatments. This role involves assessing patient needs, collaborating with the nursing team to develop care plans, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of New York.
  • Experience working in a neurosciences setting, preferably in an epilepsy monitoring unit.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and situations.
