About the Role

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced endoscopy environment. As a skilled professional, you will utilize the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, collecting and analyzing data to inform care decisions.
  • Supervise and direct patient care in the endoscopy suite, ensuring adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Verify patient identification, procedure details, and medical history to ensure accurate and safe care.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Collaborate with proceduralists and other team members to develop individualized care plans.
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation for procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Implement interventions to meet patient needs, utilizing proper techniques and safety precautions.
  • Evaluate patient response to care and revise plans as necessary.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the team.
  • Direct other staff members as needed and report any unusual occurrences.
  • Administer medications and chart patient information accurately.
  • Handle and store specimens according to policy and procedure.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum three years of experience in an endoscopy unit, operating room, or critical care setting.
  • Current NY State RN License and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in Office PC's, Desktops, and Laptop software, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Physical Demands

This role requires prolonged periods of standing, walking, talking, sitting, hearing, and bending throughout the workday. Some repetitive motions may be involved.
