A Typical Day for a Residential Support Specialist may include:
- Implementing person-centered strategies that are specifically designed to address the unique needs of each individual, including positive behavioral interventions during challenging emotional moments.
- Assisting individuals in fulfilling their daily requirements, promoting health and wellness, and enhancing independence in daily living skills.
- Organizing community outings based on individual preferences, which may involve activities such as swimming, biking, hiking, and social gatherings.
- Encouraging individual participation in decision-making when safe and suitable, while providing necessary personal care and medical oversight.
- Delivering varying levels of supervision and support based on individual needs, including safety measures when required.
- Ensuring all support strategies are executed with expertise and care to foster safety, growth, and autonomy.
- Transporting clients to and from essential therapy and clinical appointments as needed.

- Completing assigned tasks diligently.
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
