POSITION: Residential Support Specialist/Crisis Intervention Specialist
COMPENSATION: $20.81/hr - $21.85/hr

Our organization offers various residential support models designed to cater to the distinct needs of each resident. These models include supervised apartments, shared living arrangements, staffed residences, and licensed community-based homes. Our philosophy emphasizes the importance of fostering meaningful relationships and recognizing the inherent abilities of each individual.

A Typical Day for a Residential Support Specialist may include:
  • Implementing person-centered strategies that are specifically designed to address the unique needs of each individual, including positive behavioral interventions during challenging emotional moments.
  • Assisting individuals in fulfilling their daily requirements, promoting health and wellness, and enhancing independence in daily living skills.
  • Organizing community outings based on individual preferences, which may involve activities such as swimming, biking, hiking, and social gatherings.
  • Encouraging individual participation in decision-making when safe and suitable, while providing necessary personal care and medical oversight.
  • Delivering varying levels of supervision and support based on individual needs, including safety measures when required.
  • Ensuring all support strategies are executed with expertise and care to foster safety, growth, and autonomy.
  • Transporting clients to and from essential therapy and clinical appointments as needed.
  • Collaborating with families, guardians, and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Possessing a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Holding a valid driver's license with a strong driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Demonstrating proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Suite.
  • Having prior experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Being capable of assisting clients who may require physical interventions and engaging in frequent physical activity.
  • Effectively managing and de-escalating potentially aggressive situations.
  • Exhibiting the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Completing assigned tasks diligently.
  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibiting patience and empathy towards residents.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude and sense of humor.
  • Adapting to a dynamic work environment.
