A typical day as a Metallurgical Engineer includes:

  • Conducting hands-on metallurgical evaluations in a fast-paced lab environment, including executing tests on various metals and accurately documenting results.
  • Performing both routine and advanced metallurgical analyses with minimal oversight, utilizing light optical microscopy.
  • Engaging in complex examinations, such as microstructure characterizations, microhardness assessments, and defect identification.
  • Interpreting engineering specifications and drawings in accordance with industry standards.
  • Operating specialized equipment for specimen preparation and analysis.
  • Providing technical guidance to team members and collaborating with other departments.
  • Acquiring relevant certifications to enhance your professional qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience in metallurgical or materials testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory management software.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
