A typical day as a Metallurgical Engineer includes:
- Conducting hands-on metallurgical evaluations in a fast-paced lab environment, including executing tests on various metals and accurately documenting results.
- Performing both routine and advanced metallurgical analyses with minimal oversight, utilizing light optical microscopy.
- Engaging in complex examinations, such as microstructure characterizations, microhardness assessments, and defect identification.
- Interpreting engineering specifications and drawings in accordance with industry standards.
- Operating specialized equipment for specimen preparation and analysis.
- Providing technical guidance to team members and collaborating with other departments.
- Acquiring relevant certifications to enhance your professional qualifications.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience in metallurgical or materials testing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory management software.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
