Hospice Aide Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Aide to provide high-quality patient care to individuals in need of end-of-life support. As a Hospice Aide, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver personalized care and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic personal care and homemaking services as directed by the Manager, Service Operations or RN.
  • Perform temperature, pulse, and respiration checks, as well as sponge, tub, shower, and bed baths.
  • Assist with oral hygiene, nail and skin care, back rubs, and use of bedpans or urinals.
  • Make occupied beds, perform range of motion exercises, and assist with ambulation or exercise.
  • Set up meals, assist with feeding, and perform light household services essential to healthcare at home.
  • Maintain a safe environment and observe infection control precautions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Current CNA certification required.
  • One or two years' experience as a home health/hospice aide or nurse aide preferred.
  • Completion of a home health/hospice aide training and competency-evaluation program or an in-house competency-evaluation program.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently and effectively communicate in internal and external relationships.
