Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. in Tysons, VA. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, including conceptual design to construction documents. You will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure that designs meet customer requirements and are delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including single and three-line diagrams, grounding, and feeder routing.
  • Prepare and review electrical sketches, specifications, and data sheets.
  • Perform routine electrical calculations and assist in design reviews and checks.
  • Assist in the development of specifications and installation details of construction materials and equipment.
  • Use 2D CAD/BIM skills and assist on the development of Method of Procedures (MOP) and Sequence of Operations (SOP) to support construction execution effort.
  • Interpret mechanical, special, and other miscellaneous equipment schedules and logic narratives.
  • Ability to accurately estimate completion percentage of assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • 0+ years of experience in engineering with a Bachelor's degree in a physical Engineering Discipline.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of products, SharePoint, Calculation Software - AGI32, ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, Engineering Document Management System (EDMS), Infrastructure Maintenance Management System (IMMS), AtTask, Bluebeam.
  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.
