Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing effective respiratory care to patients through approved client assessment, diagnostics, therapeutics, and education. Your services will be initiated by physician orders and approved protocols.

Department Description

The Respiratory Therapy team at Samaritan Health Services delivers treatment and diagnostic patient care services to critical and non-critical patients. We serve all age groups and patient populations using evidence-based techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system.

Requirements
  • Current registration by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC-RRT) required.
  • Current state of Oregon Respiratory Care License required.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS required.
  • Two (2) years clinical experience in Respiratory Care preferred.
Special Requirements
  • ACLS required within one (1) year of hire.
  • If responsible for acute care, NRP and PALS required within one (1) year of hire.
  • GSRMC Neonatal Intubation Certification required or obtained within 90 days of hire and quarterly maintained by all regularly scheduled employees.
  • If responsible for Diagnostic care, Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) required within 18 months of hire.

  • Patient Care - Possess the skills and knowledge needed to assist and care for others.
  • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
  • Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues.
  • Conflict resolution - Ability to proactively resolve conflicts in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology.
